First edition. Limited to 205 copies, this copy is no 67, signed by Manhood. Short story later collected in APPLES BY NIGHT (1932). The author specialized in short stories and was published by some of the top literary houses in England (Jonathan Cape, Grayson and Grayson, the White Owl Press and William Heinemann) but seems to have slipped through the cracks since then as far as critical notice is concerned. – Free endpapers tanned, else a fine copy.
